Book launch to take place in Kilcar

A native of Straleel in the parish of Kilcar, Joseph Cannon, has just published his second book, The Thoughts and Poems of Joseph Cannon.

Having moved to Dublin in 1979, Joseph Cannon, wrote his first book ‘Miscellany of Thoughts and Poems of Joseph Cannon’ when recovering from devastating spinal injuries.  This book was  sold out, raising thousands of euros for three different deserving charities.

Proceeds from his new book will be divided between Kilcar Pipe Band and ExWell, a community-based chronic illness rehabilitation programme founded by Dr. Noel McCaffrey in Santry.

The Thoughts and Poems of Joseph Cannon will be launched in Áislann Chill Chartha on this Saturday, February 12 at 7.30pm. Joseph will be present to sign the book until 9pm before going to Kilcar House, where entertainment will be provided by DJ Ciaran Cannon. Light refreshments will also be provided. Members of the Kilcar Pipe Band will be in attendance at the launch in the Áislann.

The book will be available in the local shops in Kilcar and Carrick from next week or by contacting Joseph on 087 0692943 or email rosscannonitt@gmail.com.
