Brendan McFadden
Popular and well-known Creeslough farmer Brendan McFadden has been made an honorary life member of the Irish Farmers’ Association.
The announcement was revealed at the annual general meeting of the Co. Donegal Executive of the IFA which was held online this evening.
Donegal IFA Chairman Brendan McLauglin praised Mr McFadden “for all the work” that he had done for the association, and said that the awarding of honorary membership was “well deserved”.
He added that he hopes to present the framed certificate in person to Mr McFadden at a future date.
Speaking on the online meeting, Mr McFadden recalled that the first ever meeting in Creeslough of a branch of what was then the National Farmers’ Association was in the 1950s after a branch was set up by the late Major Neville Chance.
Although the branch went into decline many years later and folded, it was re-established in 1988, and Mr McFadden has been a key figure and active member of the IFA.
