Everyone welcome to Relay For Life Donegal's free Cancer Conference

The packed conference will encapsulate the spirit of Relay For Life

Relay For Life Donegal goes virtual for 2021 and team registration is now open

Relay For Life Donegal's cancer conference takes place this weekend

Relay For Life Donegal’s is kicking off its tenth anniversary year with the bi-annual cancer conference.

Taking place in the Mount Errigal Hotel in Letterkenny this Saturday, February 26 from 10am to 1pm, the packed programme will be in the true spirit of Relay For Life - solidarity, hope and support for cancer survivors and their caregivers.

Topics covered will include: patient experience; update of Letterkenny University Hospital research projects; launch of the new Support Programme For Schools; a decade of advances in cancer treatments, research and support; counselling - ‘we are here for you.’

This free conference is open to everyone. However, booking is essential and can be made at https://forms.gle/ojic3fV3UUXhe4kJ6, by emailing relayforlifedonegal@gmail.com or calling Ena on 087 9966096 or Robert on 087 2716344.

A spokesperson said: “ We have lots planned in just a few hours and you won't want to miss it!”

Like so much else, Relay For Life Donegal - and the people who benefit from it - have suffered from the restrictions of the last two years. Despite the challenges, organisers have really gone the extra mile to reach out to people affected by cancer in Donegal. They have also continued their fundraising efforts and have fostered a spirit of unity in a ‘separate but together’ environment.

A return to being able to physically come together is most welcome and it is hoped that Relay weekend will return to LYIT in all its glory this summer.

Over the last ten years, hundreds of thousands of Euro have been raised at Relay For Life in Letterkenny. As well as being an important fundraiser for cancer services and research, Relay For Life remembers loved ones who have been lost to cancer while celebrating and supporting cancer patients and those who care for them.

It is a wonderful, life affirming event that has a very special place in the hearts of those who take part.
