Donegal motorists warned to be careful tonight

The van which is off the road just outside Fintown

A van on the Fintown to Glenties road has fallen victim to the driving conditions.

It is situated a short distance from Fintown itself where the road is still covered in sleet and some snow. It is unclear whether anyone was injured in the incident.

Drivers are urged to be cautious on this and other country roads.

Meanwhile Met Éireann has warned that there will be heavy showers of rain, hail and sleet will continue with isolated thunderstorms possible.

It will be very windy for a time in the north-west with very strong and very gusty west to north-west winds.
