News that the popular Tavern pub and restaurant in Mountcharles is closing has been met with much shock.
A popular venue with a reputation for excellent food and a great pub atmosphere, the Tavern has built up a loyal customer base.
However, the owners felt that they simply could not continue to operate in the current climate.
In a post on social media this evening (Monday), they said: "We regret to inform everyone that the Tavern will be closing from tonight, Monday the 28th of February.
"Due to ever increasing costs and staffing issues we unfortunately will no longer be able to continue in business.
"We would like to thank everyone who has supported us."
