On a weekend when Shane Lowry grabbed the headlines after sinking a fabulous hole in one at the Players Championship, back home at the humble surrounds of Barnhill, one Letterkenny golfer got to sample the joys of an ace on his home course.
Paddy Lynch marked the start of the 2022 season when he recorded a memorable hole in one at Letterkenny Golf Club on Sunday.
Playing with Peter Friel, Philip Friel and Cliff Malone, Paddy took on the 5th which was playing 130 yards to the centre. He went with a pitching wedge and watched in delight as his ball bounced two feet short of the pin before hopping into the hole.
High fives all round - the perfect way to start the year. Well done Paddy.
