The 50th anniversary of the Dungloe senior marching band was celebrated in style yesterday at the local St Patrick's day parade.
The band was founded in 1972 and they appeared in their very first parade that year in Dungloe.

Here we see Imelda Neely and Ann Boyle in our main photo following the St Patrick's Day Parade wearing the sash from the year that the band started up and one from fifty years later, 2022.
In 2018, the senior band also marched in the New York St Patrick's Day parade.
They are without doubt, having won multiple awards down the years, a real jewel in the Donegal crown.
Earlier in the day at noon, they played a few tunes as well in St Crones Church to celebrate their 50th year, including a beautiful rendition of 'Faith of our Fathers'.

The band also offered a big well done and thank you to all the staff in The Cope, Dungloe, for adding the Red and White decorations in preparation for the band's 50th celebrations on St Patrick's Day.
They included thanks to Pat, Annette, Brendan & Gerard, and everyone else involved. (Photo: Dungloe Band FB)
