Young female was victim of unprovoked assault in Letterkenny

She had walked from the High Road in Letterkenny

A young woman was the victim of an unprovoked assault in Letterkenny, last week. 

The assault occurred in the Beechwood Park area on the morning of St Patrick's day - Wednesday night, March 16, between 3am and 4.10am. 

The young female had walked up the High Road from the direction of Letterkenny town.  

"She walked to the Beechwood Park estate where she was the victim of an unprovoked assault by a male who was unknown to her," Sergeant Eunan Walsh said. 

The female received injuries which she received medical attention for. 

The male is described between being between 5 ft 7inches and 5 ft 8 inches in height. His head is shaved and he has a beard. He also wore a distinctive red top. He is described as being aged between his mid twenties and early thirties. 

Residents and taxi drivers who were in the area and may have dashcam are asked to please make themselves available to Letterkenny gardaí.
