A wonderful tea party in aid of the visually impaired group was held at the Acres national school on Sunday.
The tea party was organised by Mrs Carol Alcorn who is a member of the visually impaired group for many years. The group meet every Tuesday over the last four years. They sometimes enjoy music during these gatherings.
“The first tea party was held to raise funds for Maura McHugh who had Motor Neurone Disease. We try to have one every year and raise money for someone or an orgnaisation who needs it,” Carol said.
During the tea party people can enjoy a cup of tea and a scone.
There were a lot of children at the tea party on Sunday. One of the beneficiaries was the national school at Acres, Burtonport. The group are appreciative of volunteers Margaret Minnie Gallagher and Patricia O Donnell Byrne who greatly aid and facilitate the group. Linda Gallagher is also a great help to the group.
