Loreto Secondary School in Letterkenny are celebrating All-Ireland success after the school’s junior Irish debating team were crowned winners of Comórtas an Phiarsaigh, Gael Linn's Irish debating competition.

It’s a wonderful achievement for the school who came through some tough competition on their way to the All-Ireland finals which were held in Athlone on Wednesday.

The Junior girls team - which includes  -  Katie Coyle, Emily Crossan and Ellen Griffin - were declared overall All-Ireland junior winners   and were complimented by the panel of six judges on their fluency, persuasive arguments and captivating delivery.

The school’s senior team can also be proud of their achievements this year, reaching the All-Ireland semi finals which took place in Carrick-on-Shannon earlier this month.
