Learn all about dragonflies and damselflies in Donegal workshop
Few insects hold as much of a 'Wow!' factor as dragonflies and damselflies.
A glimpse of these beautiful creatures is a real treat, and people will now have the opportunity to find out more about identifying the various species.
The National Biodiversity Data Centre is pleased to announce a return to workshops this year, after Covid restrictions meant that they could not take place during the last two years. One such event is taking place in Donegal in the coming weeks.
Dragonfly Ireland Workshop: An introduction to Dragonflies and Damselflies takes place at Sheskinmore Nature
Sheskinmore Nature Reserve.
It will run from 10am to 3pm on Saturday, June 25 and will be led by Dave Wall. Numbers are limited but there are a number of places still available.
A spokesperson said: "During this workshop we will look at the features used to identify Ireland’s Dragonfly and Damselfly species, how to survey for them, where to find them.
"We will visit local wetland habitats in search some of the dragonfly and damselfly species found on this beautiful and remote stretch of the Irish Coastline.
"This workshop is suitable for beginners and those wishing to refresh their identification skills."
Booking details and further information can be found at https://biodiversityireland.ie/workshops/
