Joseph French, Falcarragh and Dublin

The death has occurred peacefully at Galway University Hospital surrounded by his loving family, of Joseph French, Falcarragh, and formerly of Coolock, Dublin.

Devoted dad to Katie and loving brother to Bernadette, Veronica, Declan, John, Edel, Ann and Jacinta; very sadly missed by his loving family, Katie’s partner Ben, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and his beloved dog Jackpot. Predeceased by his father John, mother Ann, and her partner John.

His remains are reposing in Jennings Funeral Home, Oscar Traynor Road, Coolock, on Monday from 2pm to 4pm.

Removal on Tuesday to the Church of St Joseph The Artisan, Bonnybrook, arriving for Funeral Mass at 10am followed by burial in Dardistown Cemetery. The Funeral Mass will be streamed live on Tuesday morning at 10am via https://www.bonnybrookparish.ie/tv

John Moore Snr, Portnoo

The death has occurred peacefully in the loving care of the staff of Killybegs Community Hospital, in his 95th year, of John Moore Snr, The Glebe, Clooney, Portnoo.

His remains will be reposing at Shovlin's Funeral Home, Sandfield on Friday evening from 4pm to 8pm, followed by private removal to his residence. House private to family and friends, please.

Funeral from Shovlin's Funeral Home on Saturday afternoon at 1.15pm, via Castlegoland Beach, to St Conal's Church, Kilclooney, for 2pm Requiem Mass, with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Philomena McLoone, Ballindrait

The peaceful death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital of Philomena McLoone, Birdstown, Ballindrait, Lifford F93 HY2T.

Predeceased by her husband Paul Rancour and brothers Joe, Andy and Neil. Deeply missed by her loving daughter Christina, family, friends and neighbours.

Philomena’s remains will be reposing at her late residence on Friday until 10pm. Family, close friends and neighbours welcome with house private on the morning of the funeral. 

Funeral from there on Saturday morning, at 10.40am going to St Patrick’s Church, Murlog for 11am Requiem Mass which can be viewed on www.clonleighparish.com

Private cremation to take place later. Family flowers only please.

John Carr, Fanad

The peaceful death has occurred at Letterkenny University Hospital of John (The Moss) Carr, Doaghmore, Fanad.

Predeceased by his wife Eileen, brothers Neil, Eddie and James and sisters Mary Ellen, Maggie and Sarah. Deeply regretted by his son Tony, nephews Joe and Pat, his extended family, neighbours and many friends.

John’s remains are reposing at his nephew Pat’s house at Doaghmore.

Removal from there at 2.30pm on Saturday arriving at St Mary’s Church, Fanavolty for 3pm Requiem Mass, followed by burial in the adjoining graveyard.

Desmond McGeoghegan, Carndonagh

The death has taken place at the Donegal Hospice of Desmond McGeoghegan, Tiernaleague, Carndonagh.

His remains are reposing at the home of his cousin Patrick Collins, Leiter, Culdaff, F93 K2T2.

Funeral from there on Saturday at 10am for Funeral Mass in the Sacred Heart Church, Carndonagh at 11am travelling via Tiernaleague with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Donations in lieu of flowers to the Donegal Hospice C/O Any family member. The funeral Mass can be viewed live on www.carndonaghparish.com

Willie Dixon, Fahan

The death has taken place of Willie Dixon, Ballynahone, Fahan, Buncrana.

Beloved husband of the late Beth, loving son of the late William and Frances, dear brother of Gerard and the late John and a much-loved uncle and great-uncle.

Willie’s remains are reposing in Liam and Teresa Dixon’s home, Ballynahone, Fahan.

Funeral from there on Saturday at 1.30pm for 2pm service in St Mura’s Parish Church, Fahan. Interment will take place afterwards in the adjoining churchyard.

Fidelma Gallagher, Stranorlar

The death has taken place of Fidelma Gallagher, Railway Road, Stranorlar.

Predeceased by her much-loved parents Jack and Nora. She will be sadly missed by her devoted partner Tony, beloved sisters Sylvia, Yvonne, Terri, brothers Dennis, Andrew, Gerard and Paul. She will be deeply and sincerely missed by her loving partner, brothers, sisters, brothers in law, sisters-in-law, aunt Eileen, nieces, nephews, cousins and wide circle of friends.

Fidelma’s remains will be reposing at the family home Main Street, Stranorlar (EF93 D2H4) on Friday until 10pm. Family, friends and neighbours welcome. Family time at all other times and on the morning of the funeral.

Mass of the Resurrection in the Church of Mary Immaculate at 11am on Saturday with internment afterwards in Drumboe Cemetery, Stranorlar. Requiem Mass will be streamed live on the parish webcam at www.churchservices.tv/stranorlar

Donations in lieu of flowers, if so desired, to a Charity of your choice, c/o any family member or Martin McGowan, McGowan’s Funeral Home, Drumboe Avenue, Stranorlar.

Margaret Tunney, Ballyshannon

The peaceful death has occurred of Margaret Tunney, Creevy, Ballyshannon at the Ballyshannon Community Nursing Unit.

Margaret was predeceased by her brother Michael and sisters Cassie, Mary Ellen and Anne. She was also a much-loved sister of Patricia and aunt of Patricia, Brendan, Marion, Anne, Gerard, Karen, Noreen and Gerard.

Her remains are reposing at McGee's Funeral Home, Belleek Road, Ballyshannon on Friday from 5pm to 7pm.

Removal from the funeral home on Saturday at 10.30am to arrive at St Patrick's Church, Ballyshannon for Mass of the Resurrection at 11am with interment in the Abbey Assaroe Cemetery. The funeral Mass shall be streamed live and can be viewed at www.churchservices.tv/stpatricksballyshannon

Family flowers only. Donations in lieu if so desired to the Ballyshannon Community Nursing Unit c/o Patrick McKenna Funeral Directors, Ballyshannon.

An tAthair Cathal Ó Gallchóir, Gaoth Dobhair

The sudden death occurred of an tAthair Cathal Ó Gallchóir at his home in Tyler, Minnesota on Sunday, October 30.

He is survived by his seven brothers and his two sisters, and their families. Predeceased by his parents Johnny Sheáin, and Mary, his sisters Méabha and Máiréad, his nieces Sinéad and Fionnuala and his brother-in-law Pat Munnelly. He will be greatly missed by his many friends in Ireland, Japan and the United States, especially his colleague and dear friend Fr Jim Callahan (Worthington, Minnesota). 

Fr Cathal’s remains will repose in the family home (F92 P2Y1) on Friday until Rosary at 8pm. 

The Funeral Mass will be in Teach Pobail Mhuire, Doirí Beaga on Saturday at 11am with interment afterwards in Reilig Mhachaire Gathlán.
