A large congregation turned out to St Colmcille's Church in Glendowan on Thursday evening as a new Icon dedicated to St Colmcille was unveiled.
The Icon was painted by the talented Sr Marie Therese Langer, Sister of the Merciful Jesus who is based at the Divine Mercy Centre in Letterkenny.
The Icon was blessed and consecrated by the Bishop of Raphoe, Alan McGuckian SJ, at evening Mass.
The unveiling took place on a week when St Colmcille's birthday, December 7, is celebrated.
Parish Priest, Very Rev Michael McKeever, was joined by the Bishop of Raphoe and by Dr Philip Boyce, Bishop Emeritus of Raphoe, for the special night.
