Brighton boss Dario Vidosic confirmed defender Maelys Mpome is “up and about” after sustaining a concussion against Arsenal.
In the second half of the Seagulls’ 1-0 Women’s Super League defeat at the Emirates, Mpome was hit in the head by a cross and received lengthy treatment on the pitch before being carried off on a stretcher.
After a lengthy pause in play, Maelys has been stretchered off after initially receiving medical attention on the pitch.
Wishing you a speedy recovery, Maelys. 💜

The stoppage saw 13 minutes added on at the end of the game, but the French defender – who joined Brighton from Chelsea over the summer – was able to travel home with the team.
Vidosic told the Brighton website: “She’s up and about and having a shower, which is very good news.
“She will continue to be assessed but fingers crossed she’s OK as it’s important for players to come off the pitch as healthy as when they stepped on it.”
