Brendan Rodgers is pleased to see that Celtic’s spirit is as strong as ever as they search for top form this season.
The Hoops return from international duty to take on Dundee on Tayside on Sunday, two points behind William Hill Premiership leaders Hearts after seven fixtures and having dropped out of the Champions League to play Europa League football.
A last-gasp Daizen Maeda strike gave the Scottish champions a 3-2 home win over Motherwell in the last outing but the Parkhead boss remains confident going forward.
“I just think it’s going to be time, but whilst you are waiting for that, you have to win games,” he told Celtic TV.
“I think that we’ve shown glimpses throughout the games, but not consistently enough.
“But the team is still winning domestically, and that’s very, very important. I think that really typified the mentality because that’s something that you can’t underestimate as well.
“We’ve played a number of games so far this season already, and we’ve had late winners in those games.
“So that tells you that the spirit is very strong in the team. The push that we get from the support is really galvanising the team. And it is a team that will go to the very end.”
