Michael O’Halloran fired a stoppage-time winner as Morton beat Queen’s Park 2-1 at Cappielow Park in the William Hill Championship.
O’Halloran struck in the second minute of stoppage time after Aidan Connolly’s first-half equaliser for Queen’s Park had cancelled out Tomi Adeloye’s penalty.
Morton clinched just their second home league win of the season to climb up two places to sixth in the table, while Queen’s Park remain eighth after winning only one of their last 10 league games.
Adeloye fired Morton ahead from the penalty spot shortly before the break after he went to ground under visiting goalkeeper Calum Ferrie’s challenge.
The visitors hit back before the break when Connolly buried a finish into the bottom corner after being teed up inside the penalty area by Roddy MacGregor.
Kerr Robertson and Cammy Ballantyne both fired narrowly wide early in the second period and Michael Garrity’s header was saved as Morton created the better chances.
Cammy MacPherson’s effort was also kept out by Ferrie before substitute O’Halloran lashed a right-footed finish into the top corner after being set up by Nathan Shaw.
