AC Milan cut Inter Milan’s lead at the top of Serie A to seven points after a 1-0 victory in the derby at San Siro.
Pervis Estupinan’s first-half strike saw Milan complete a Serie A double over their fierce city rivals for the first time since 2011.
Inter had gone 15 league matches undefeated since their 1-0 loss to Milan in November but it was full-back Estupinan who found the only goal.
Roma’s Champions League hopes suffered a blow with a 2-1 loss against Genoa.
Evan Ndicka quickly equalised after Junior Messias had given Genoa the lead but Vitinha netted the winner 10 minutes from time.
Lecce claimed victory in the big match at the bottom, beating Cremonese 2-1 to move three points clear of the drop zone.
Hellas Verona gave their hopes of avoiding relegation a boost with a shock 2-1 success away to eighth-placed Bologna, with Scottish striker Kieron Bowie scoring the winner with his first goal for the club.

England’s Jonathan Rowe had put Bologna ahead just after half-time but Martin Frese equalised before Bowie struck, with all the goals coming in a frenetic nine-minute spell.
Lowly Fiorentina drew 0-0 with Parma.
Lens closed to within one point of Paris St Germain at the top of the Ligue 1 table, taking advantage of their rivals’ loss to Monaco on Friday by beating bottom side Metz 3-0.
Saud Abdulhamid and Florian Thauvin scored either side of half-time and Amadou Haidara added the third in the 52nd minute.
Fourth-placed Lyon needed a penalty from Corentin Tolisso six minutes into injury time to earn a 1-1 draw with Paris FC.

European hopefuls Rennes enjoyed a thumping 4-0 win over Nice and are now two points ahead of Lille, who were held to a 1-1 draw by Lorient, for whom Arthur Avom scored a stoppage-time equaliser.
Brest sit five points adrift of Lille after a 2-0 victory over Le Havre.
In LaLiga, Villarreal moved back level on points with third-placed Atletico Madrid after beating Elche 2-1.
First-half goals from Tajon Buchanan and Santiago Mourino put the home side in control and, although Elche pulled one back late on through Andre Silva, Villarreal held on.

Villarreal are now nine points ahead of fifth-placed Real Betis, who were beaten 2-0 by Getafe.
Down at the bottom of the table, Valencia pulled away from danger after a dramatic end to their 3-2 victory over Alaves.
Two goals from Lucas Boye looked set to decide the contest in Alaves’ favour but Eray Comert equalised in the 90th minute and Hugo Duro scored the winner from the penalty spot nine minutes into stoppage time after the visitors had had both Jon Pacheco and Ander Guevara sent off.
A midtable battle in the Bundesliga went decisively the way of Werder Bremen, who thumped 10-man Union Berlin 4-1.
Derrick Kohn put Berlin ahead from the penalty spot in the 18th minute but Andras Schafer was sent off just a minute later and Werder took full advantage.
Eintracht Frankfurt were held to a goalless draw by lowly St Pauli.
