Cristiano Ronaldo could return to training next week after injury, according to Portugal boss Roberto Martinez.
The 41-year-old has been sidelined for a month since sustaining a hamstring problem playing for his club side Al Nassr.
Ronaldo is sitting out this international window’s friendlies against Mexico and the USA but appears set to be a key figure at this summer’s World Cup.

Asked about the veteran’s future, Martinez told a press conference in comments reported by Marca: “It’s hard for me to say because obviously I’ve learned very quickly not to predict the future with Ronaldo, simply because he has that elite mentality focused on being the best he can be today.
“And I think, if you ask him, he’ll tell you the same thing – he doesn’t make plans. It is true that he has now had an injury.
“Probably next week (he will return), we think. Obviously we are working together with the club. I think that next week he could start training with his group, so it’s not a serious problem.”
