Tim Easterby is still weighing up the remaining options for his speedy juvenile Revival Power this term.
A full-sister to Winter Power, with whom Easterby won the Nunthorpe as a three-year-old, she has clearly inherited plenty of her sibling’s speed.
Having won a Listed race at the Ebor meeting, she stepped up on that when an all-the-way victor in the Flying Childers at Doncaster.
With no five-furlong Group One for juveniles in Europe, Easterby’s option are limited to taking on her elders in the Prix de l’Abbaye, which he is not keen to do, or to head to the Breeders’ Cup which also seems unlikely.
As she is in such good heart, Easterby may be tempted to run her under a penalty in the Group Three Cornwallis Stakes at Newmarket on October 10.
“I haven’t decided what she’s doing yet, she doesn’t have many options,” said Easterby.
“There’s nothing for her unfortunately, which is a bit ridiculous, there’s no five-furlong Group One.
“There’s the Cornwallis, which is a Group Three, there’s the Prix de l’Abbaye, but I don’t want to run her in that, or there’s the Breeders’ Cup but that’s at Del Mar which is very tight.
“She’s just so well so I’m keen to run but we’ve got to choose the right race, she’s in great form. She’d have a 5lb penalty in the Cornwallis but I haven’t spoken to her owner or the racing manager about that yet, I just thought that’s the only race there is really.
“I’m just not keen on the Abbaye for her this year, if you get a bad draw you’ve no chance.”
