David O’Meara is hopeful Estrange will be in top shape for the Qipco British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes at Ascot on Saturday.
The Cheveley Park Stud-owned four-year-old had been all set to bid for glory in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe having been declared.
However, a routine scope two days before the race showed she was under the weather and connections took the decision not to travel.
She had been entered on Champions Day as a back-up plan and while she looks unlikely to get her favoured soft ground, there are no other options for her this season.
“She’s OK. She had a little bit of dicky scope ahead of the Arc and she’s had a small bit of treatment. I’m hoping she’d be right for Saturday,” said O’Meara.
“If she doesn’t run there, that will be her for the season.”
