White Birch will be geared towards Royal Ascot by new connections

White Birch has the Wolferton Stakes at Royal Ascot as his first main aim for new connections.

Sold for 300,000 guineas having won the 2024 Tattersalls Gold Cup among other races for previous connections, he was bought by Jamie Osborne for Ian and Claire Barratt, who race their string under the Barratt Racing banner.

“He’s good and his first aim is going to be Royal Ascot, after one or two prep runs, we’ll be looking at the Wolferton,” said Osborne.

“His owners would love to have a competitive horse at Royal Ascot so that is the priority.

“The route we take to get there hasn’t yet been decided, but he won’t be heavily campaigned as it will all be about Royal Ascot. After that we’ll sit down and have a strategy meeting.

“He’ll be running for Barratt Racing, Ian and Claire Barratt who used to own Emaraaty Ana with me and they would very much like to go to Ascot with a chance so his eggs will go into that basket in the early part of the year anyhow.”
