Caolan McColgan in action for Donegal U-20s against Tyrone in 2021
Caolan McColgan from Naomh Padraig Uisce Chaoin was part of the Ulster University side who went down to a one-point loss in their Sigerson Cup opener against Queen’s University at the Dub in Belfast.
McColgan lined out for Donegal on Sunday in their 2-14 to 1-10 loss to Down in the Dr McKenna Cup in Newry and despite kicking a point for Ulster University, his team were beaten 1-12 to 1-11.
Ulster University were four points in front in the second half and managed a goal through Ryan Magill of Down. However, Tyrone’s Luke Donnelly scored 1-2 to give Queen’s the win. St Eunan’s Eoin McGeehin is part of the Queen’s panel and his clubmate Ciaran Moore is with Ulster University, who welcome ATU Donegal next week in a winner-takes-all decider to stay in the competition.
