Inishowen AC’s Pauric McKinney won gold in his age category to help the club to M50+ silver at the 123.ie National Intermediate, Masters and Juvenile B Cross Country Championships.

At Gowran Demesne in Kilkenny on Sunday, McKinney was the leading M55 athlete in 24 minutes and 25 seconds.

McKinney was the leading runner as Inishowen took the M50 team silvers.

McKinney was joined on the scoring team by Liam Bradley, Martin McLucas and Philip Callaghan.

The Inishowen quartet were aided by Milford AC’s Anthony Doherty and Michael Penrose of Finn Valley AC as Donegal finished as the third county in the M50.

Kay Byrne from Finn Valley AC was second F60, beaten only by Niamh O’Sullivan from An Riocht AC.

Milford AC’s Martin Martin Kerr was the second M70 athlete with Brian McBride of Letterkenny AC fifth.

In the Juvenile B event, Rosses AC trio Shauna McGovern (fourth, under-11), Evan Ward (8th, under-13) and Faela Houston (9th, under-15) earned individual medals for top-12 finishes.
