Inishowen River Trust volunteers planting trees along the Culdaff river
The Inishowen Rivers Trust is inviting the public and groups to find out about what is happening to keep waters clean and healthy in Inishowen and nationally.
The event, the first of its kind for six years, is an opportunity for local groups to hear about the latest research in river management and for national agencies to meet the local community conserving and protecting local rivers and waterways.
Inishowen Rivers Trust is a charity dedicated to the protection and restoration of the rivers and natural waterbodies of Inishowen for the benefit of all. The group provides training, support and advice and manages projects to support its aims.
In 2017 the Inishowen Rivers Trust hosted an event called Who’s Who in Inishowen Rivers which involved a discussion between people in the community and agencies with responsibility for water protection.
Agencies involved in the protection of water will present their latest research and projects at the event at An Grianán Hotel Burt, on Thursday, February 23 at 6pm.
Community groups, like Wild Inishowen, IDP, and ECO Carn will present the work they have been doing and are planning to do to protect and conserve local rivers.
Participants are also invited to join the Inishowen Rivers Trust on a field trip across Inishowen on the morning of Friday, February 24 to see, on the ground, the work being done by groups throughout Inishowen to protect and conserve waterways.
Tickets for the event can be booked at inishowenriverstrust.com.
