Cahir Gomley exits U22 Championships

Illies Golden Gloves boxer Cahir Gormley bowed out of the National Under-22 Championships at the weekend.

Gormley was in 67kgs action at the National Stadium.

Gormley overcame Gianni Richmond from Cairn Lodge in his preliminary round bout on Saturday.

However, Gormley made his exit following a unanimous decision defeat at the hands of Cabra's Cian Cramer in Sunday's quarter-final.

Illies' Oisin Dobbins goes in the Under-18 semi-finals this Friday night.

Dobbins meets Anthony Taggart from Ormeau Road BC in an 80kgs semi-final.

Letterkenny native Jack Harkin, who boxes for the Oakleaf ABC in Derry, clashes with Avona's Martin McDonagh in a semi-final at 54kgs.
