A Donegal boxing squad overcame Mayo in Westport on Sunday.

Donegal were impressive 13-5 winners at the St Anne's Boxing Club on a useful voyage to the west.

Clonmany's 2021 Irish Boy 2 56kgs champion Conan Kearney overcame Mattie McLaughlin of Eagle BC on a unanimous decision.

Kieran Cunningham from Carn, who lost in the Irish Boy 4 66kgs final last year, claimed an impressive win. Cunningham was the unanimous decision win over Daniel McDonagh from Geesala.

Dunfanaghy Boxing Club's Luke Kelly stopped Brian Mongan of Ballyhaunis in the third round of their clash at 63kgs.

There was also an inside-the-distance win for his clubmate Conor Durning. At 57kgs, Durning stopped Ardagh/Cross puncher Nathan Lynch in the second round.

Raphoe's Irish finalist Taylor Parke was on the wrong end of a 2-1 decision against Eagle's Jason Ward, but his club colleague Rian Patton won 2-1 against Ballina's Christian Sweeney.

The Donegal boxing squad is under the charge of Raphoe Boxing Club coach Gerard Keaveney, who recently assumed the position of county coach for the County Donegal Boxing Board.
