There were mixed fortunes for Donegal players in the League of Ireland Women's Premier Division this weekend.

Emma Doherty scored for Sligo Rovers, but the Bit O'Red lost out 2-1 at home to Treaty United.

Buncrana woman Doherty opened the scoring on 43 minutes when the Buncrana woman fireedd home after the ball bounced her way on the edge of the box.

However, Treaty – who didn't win in 27 League games in 2022 – hit back to win with second half goals from Cara Griffin and Hannah Saidi.

Keri Loughrey from Buncrana was on the starting XI for Sligo while Fiona Doherty, a Letterkenny-based Garda from Mayo, came on as a substitute.

Erin McLaughlin was named on the Team of the Week after the Culdaff woman played a starring role as Peamount United defeated Bohemians 2-0 at Dalymount Park.

Katie Mooney and Karen Duggan netted in the second half for the Peas.

Gemma McGuinness from Greencastle played for Galway, who had Jenna Slattery and Aoife Thompson to thank for the goals in a come-from-behind 2-1 win away to Shelbourne.
