The Moville Celtic AGM took place on Wednesday night
The show is still on the road at Moville Celtic FC with the election of a new committee at their AGM on Wednesday night.
The Inishowen club had made a plea in the lead-up to the AGM that their future was on the line unless they could fill some vital positions.
John Gillen stepped away from his head of youth role and was voted the new chairman of for the upcoming season.
“John has shown huge enthusiasm through his time as the role of head of youth and we can’t wait to see his positive attitude role out in his new role of chairman,” the club said on Wednesday night. “John thanked everyone for attending and stated he seen a bright future for the club, and wishes for the club going forward to be for the community run by the community. On a personal note, he stated ‘thanks very much for the opportunity, his grandfather was chairman years before and it’s a privilege to be voted in this evening.’
“We would like to congratulate and thank John Gillen for taking on his new role as chairman. With an amazing turn out at tonight’s meeting many roles were filled. Although we will urgently require a new head of youth and fundraising to keep things moving in a positive manner. If you can be of assistance for either role please PM the club’s facebook page or contact our chairman John Gillen. “Many hands make light work, and we can’t wait to see what we can achieve this year.”
