The Buncrana Roads Policing Unit made a number of arrests over the weekend

A disqualified driver had their vehicle seized by gardaí in Buncrana because the motor tax was out of date by almost 10 years.

The Buncrana Roads Policing Unit confirmed the tax “had expired over 3500 days previously”. Two drivers were also arrested on suspicion of drug driving, cannabis and cocaine, while a number of motorists were issued with Fixed Charge Penalty Notices for exceeding an 80KPH speed limit.

“Never take risks when it comes to road safety,” an Garda Siochana said. “We are all vulnerable on the roads. Nobody is invincible.”
