Erin McLaughlin is celebrating Women’s Premier Division success after Peamount United regained the title on Saturday.
Peamount earned their fourth league title thanks to a 2-0 win over Wexford Youths at Ferrycarrig Park.
Culdaff woman McLaughlin is in her second season with the Peas having moved from Sion Swifts for the 2022 campaign.
The 20-year-old has played 16 League games and scored five goals this season. She played the full 90 minutes in Wexford on Saturday.
A brace of goals from Ellen Dolan secured Saturday’s win - and the League title.
Manager James O’Callaghan has now guided Peamount to their third crown and he described the win as ‘a great day for Peamount United, the underdog and women’s football’.
Earlier this year, McLaughlin was named in the Republic of Ireland senior squad, playing in a World Cup warm-up win over Zambia. The 3-2 win at Tallaght Stadium was McLaughlin’s debut and although she didn’t make it on the final World Cup squad, the Inishowen woman remains one for the future.
