Met Éireann has forecast a much quieter day overall For Wednesday, following on from a week that saw Storm Isha and Storm Jocelyn make a footprint.
It is expected that there will be "rather brisk westerlies soon decreasing light to moderate southwesterly," according to the national meteorological service.
"Overall dry with a mix of cloud and sunny spells, though scattered showers will occur too. Highest temperatures 8 to 10 degrees," they say.
"Tonight will be dry for a time with local frost in the North, however cloud, rain and drizzle will extend up across the country from Southwest with low cloud and mist too. Lowest temperatures of 2 to 7 degrees, coolest across Ulster. Southerly winds will be light to moderate.
"Thursday will be dull and breezy with outbreaks of rain and drizzle, some heavy bursts to begin across Atlantic counties. Low cloud, hill and mist too. Brightening up somewhat during the afternoon with rain and drizzle becoming patchier. Relatively mild and humid with highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees with a moderate to fresh south to southwest wind. During the evening or early night, rain will move in from the Atlantic."
