Evelyn McGinley in action for Donegal

Donegal have made one change to the starting lineup for their clash with Kildare this Sunday in O’Donnell Park, with Evelyn McGinley coming in at corner-back for Katie Long.

McGinley came on for Shauna McFadden late on in the second half last week when John McNulty’s side clinched a four-point victory over Laois to initiate their 2024 Lidl Ladies Football League Division 2 campaign on a positive note.

With both sides winning their opening matches last week in the league, Kildare, the reigning Division 3 champions, will be hoping to put spoils to Donegal’s plans and make it two wins from two following on from their one-point victory over Monaghan last weekend.

Despite it only being January, the stakes are high in this early-season encounter, as the top two finishers in the division will earn promotion to the top flight. A victory for either Donegal or Kildare in this match would position them favorably in the early stages of the season.

Donegal: Clare Friel; Shannon McLaughlin, Abigail Temple Asokuh, Evelyn McGinley; Shauna McFadden, Nicole Gordon, Tara Hegarty; Roisín Rodgers, Niamh Boyle; Eva Gallagher, Niamh McLaughlin (capt), Katie Dowds; Susanne White, Katy Herron, Amy Boyle Carr.
