Three Donegal boxers will travel to Portugal this weekend
Three Donegal boxers will travel to Portugal this weekend to partake in the Porto Box Cup as part of the Ulster High-Performance team.
Letterkenny man Jack Harkin, who boxes out of the Oakleaf club in Derry will partake in the 54kg category along with Raphoe boxer and Irish bantamweight champion Danny Duffy.
While Cahir Gormley from the Illies Boxing Club, who was recently crowned champion last January at the Ulster Boxing Council IABA Elite finals, will make up the trio of Donegal boxers when he fights out of the 67kg weight class.
Over 300 boxers from 10 European countries will be competing at the third edition of the Porto Box Cup which will take place between May 27-31.
The competition will bring together 66 teams representing the following countries: Portugal, Spain, England, Norway, Ireland, Switzerland, Netherlands, France, Wales and Croatia.
Jay Delaney, Matthew Toner, and Kevin Morgan are the three coaches of the Ulster boxers while Aimee Shiels will take the role of team manager.
