Carndonagh woman Erin McConalogue made her debut for the Ireland U18s in the U18 Six Nations on Friday.

History was made as Inishowen Rugby Club's McConalogue became the first player from the club to be capped at that level.

Ireland lost 19-12 against England before beating Italy 20-0. The games were played over 35 minutes and they are in action again over two similar games against Wales and France before taking on Scotland next Saturday.

McConalogue, who also plays for Ulster, was selected for duty after she attended three weekend training camps at the IRFU High Performance Centre in preparation for the festival.

The games are taking place at Colwyn Bay in Wales.
