Council holding Inishowen information events on vacant and derelict properties

The events are being held in Muff, Greencastle and Culdaff

Donegal County Council is holding events across Inishowen to provide information on the supports available to refurbish vacant and derelict properties.

Under the Vacant Property Refurbishment Grant Scheme, grants up to €84,000 are available to refurbish vacant and derelict properties that have been vacant for two years or more and will be the owner’s principal private residence or made available to rent.

The Repair and Lease Scheme offers financial support of up to €80,000 per unit to bring vacant properties back into use to lease to Donegal County Council for social housing in areas where there is a need.

The Conservation Advice Grant Scheme is open to expressions of interest to help fund the cost of having a conservation expert provide advice to refurbish vacant traditional farmhouses that are availing of the Vacant Property Refurbishment Grant Scheme.

The first event takes place on Monday, April 22 in the  Muff Community Centre from 11am to 2pm. Greencastle Community Centre hosts an event on Tuesday, April 23 from 11am to 2pm and in Culdaff, an event will take place at The Wee Hall, Shore Road, on Wednesday, April 24 from 11am to 2pm.
