Donegal now know who they can potentially face in the All-Ireland series
The All-Ireland draw was complete in GAA headquarters with it being confirmed that Donegal will face either Tyrone or Derry again this season in the championship, depending on whether they win or lose the Ulster final.
Donegal booked their place in the Ulster SFC final on Sunday with their 0-18 to 0-16 point victory over Tyrone and with that, their All-Ireland series route became that little bit clearer in the process.
Jim McGuinness’s side will lock horns with Armagh in the Ulster final on Sunday, May 12 in Clones. The winners of the four provincial finals will be first seeds while the losing finalists will be second seeds.
The third and fourth seeds are the highest-placed teams from the 2024 leagues which have not qualified for their respective provincial finals. Counties which are due to meet in their provincial finals can't be drawn in the same group.
If Donegal loses to Armagh in the Ulster final they will be placed as second seeds in Group 1 alongside first seeds which will be the winner of Mayo and Galway in the Connacht final.
Both of those teams will be partnered alongside third seeds Derry and fourth seeds Westmeath.
If Donegal wins the Ulster final they will be placed as first seeds where they will play second seeds which will be the loser of the Munster final between Clare and Kerry, third seed team Tyrone, and fourth seed side Cork.
If Donegal wins their provincial clash with Armagh they will play Tyrone at home, Cork away and the losing Munster finalist in a neutral venue.
However, if McGuinness’s side loses, then they will face Westmeath at home, Derry away and the Connacht winners at a neutral venue.
Worth recalling that three teams progress through the group phase, though the preliminary quarter-final is best avoided.

Leinster winner, Connacht runner-up, Roscommon, Cavan
Group 3
Ulster winner, Munster runner-up, Tyrone, Cork
Group 4
Munster winner, Leinster runner-up, Monaghan, Meath
