Inis Communications has become the first Donegal agency to be shortlisted for a national Excellence in PR Award.
Inis Communications was shortlisted in the Environment, Social and Governance category for the awards ceremony in Dublin this Friday.
The Inishowen agency entered the awards with their campaign for the Traveller-led social enterprise, Bounce Back Recycling. BBR recycle mattresses sustainably to divert them from landfill. They are one of a growing number of clients the Inishowen-based agency now serves in Galway.
“It’s our first time to enter so, we’re totally surprised but absolutely delighted,” says Inis Communications director, Trish Hegarty. “Although we are growing, we are small compared to the large city-based agencies who compete in these awards. It means a lot to get this kind of recognition from our peers. We’re also very proud to represent Inishowen and Donegal at a national level.
“It’s also a very positive message that the landscape for business and professional services is changing. It is easier nowadays to compete from Donegal because a peripheral location is no longer a disadvantage. With high-speed broadband and Zoom meetings, we can serve our clients in Galway or Dublin just as well as a city-based agency.”
The Inis Communications team is expanding to meet the demands of its growing client base. Greencastle ATU media graduate, Beth Reynolds joined Inis Communications as Creative Lead/Account Executive over two years ago. She loves the variety of the work.
“Whether I’m crafting a campaign for a local business or collaborating with national organisations, no two days are the same. This experience allows me to grow professionally and helps me develop a deeper understanding of different industries and audiences,” Beth said.
Last year, Account Director Connell Kennedy from Ardara joined Inis Communications, adding his national and international experience to the team. “It’s an honour to be shortlisted for an award of this prestige,” says Connell. “It’s great to be recognised for work with a client as worthy as Bounce Back Recycling, who carry out such an important function. It’s a testament to the value of our work and dedication to serving our clients to the highest standard. At Inis, we work with wide-ranging clients across the public and private sectors. It means there is great variety, and the job is always interesting.”
Trish says the PR award could not have come at a better time. “We’re celebrating 20 years in business this year and are really proud of our record of success. We are holding a series of national and local events to mark our anniversary in Donegal and elsewhere, including collaborations with Awaken Hub, Letterkenny Chamber of Commerce and Donegal Women in Business. So, watch our website iniscommunications.com and our social media for details!”
The Excellence in PR Awards are run by the Public Relations Institute of Ireland (PRII) and the Public Relations Consultant Association (PRCA).
