Jason McGee is named in the 26 for Donegal's match this weekend in Croke Park
Donegal make one change to their starting XV for this weekend’s All-Ireland quarter-final match against Louth with Dáire Ó Baoill coming into the half-forward line, replacing Naomh Conaill man Odhran Doherty, while midfielder Jason McGee returns to the bench.
There was large worry over the fitness of the towering midfielder from Cloughaneely, following an injury he sustained to his hamstring against Cork in their All-Ireland group stage match in Páirc Uí Rinn a number of weeks ago, a game Donegal lost on a 3-7 to 0-16 point scoreline.
But no doubt the Donegal panel will take a serious boost with the return of McGee to the bench.
Ó Baoill made and appearance off the bench two weeks ago against Clare in Donegal’s 2-23 to 0-5 point victory, with the Gaoth Dobhair man coming on for Doherty at half-time.
Conor O’Donnell maintains his place on the panel at number 20, with the Carndonagh native just recently returning from a year-long injury.
Elsewhere in the panel, Gavin Mulreany returns as the number two goalkeeper following an injury he picked up in training before the Clare match, as he comes in for Daithi Roberts, while Caolan McColgan makes a welcome return to the main 26 as he replaces Kevin McGettigan on the bench, despite the Naomh Conaill man coming on in the Clare game for Peadar Mogan late on.
Donegal team to face Louth: Shaun Patton; Mark Curran, Brendan McCole, Eoghan Bán Gallagher; Ryan McHugh, Caolan McGonagle, Peadar Mogan; Ciarán Moore, Michael Langan; Shane O’Donnell, Ciaran Thompson, Daire Ó Baoill; Patrick McBrearty, Oisin Gallen, Niall O’Donnell.
