Carndonagh businessmen Patrick and Edmund Simpson have taken over Derry’s Da Vinci’s Hotel.

The takeover of the Culmore Road Hotel, which has been owned by the Derry-based  Garvan O’Doherty (GOD) Group for 23 years, was confirmed in early July.

On Monday, the Derry’s Da Vinci Hotel officially said goodbye to its former owner in a social media post and wished the Garvan O’Doherty Group the best in the future.

“The Garvan O’Doherty Group have, over the years, been wonderful custodians of our amazing hotel, and we wish them every success with their future endeavours,” the post said.

“We’re all incredibly excited here at Da Vinci’s Hotel to work with our new owners, and we look forward to welcoming you all to our wonderful hotel. As we embark on our new journey of delivering unparalleled hospitality to the people of Derry and beyond.”

The Simpson brothers own Derry’s Brunswick Moviebowl, and Belfast hotels Benedict’s and the Lansdowne Hotel. Last year they were part of a group that acquired the Foyle Shopping Centre in Derry.
