Marion Darcy, Bruckless

The death has occurred of Marion Darcy (nee Lightholder), Bruckless and Ballyfermot. She passed away peacefully in the caring hands of the staff at Donegal Hospice surrounded by her family.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Frank. Forever loved and deeply missed by her daughters Naomi (Noel), Sonia (Philip), Fiona (Antoine), Laura (Shaun) and Orla (Terence), her adoring grandchildren Luke, Chloe, Katie, Ella, Molly May, Tilly, Rhys, Poppy, Brooke, Lottie, Paige and Isla. Her brother Gearoid, son Stuart and children, Caoimhe and Michael.

Remains reposing on Friday from 5pm to 9pm and on Saturday from 4pm to 8pm at the home of her daughter Laura and son in law Shaun, Darney, Bruckless F94 DWF9.

Funeral Mass on Sunday at 1pm in the Church of Saint Joseph and Saint Conal, Bruckless. Burial afterwards in Killybegs cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu if desired to Donegal Hospice care of any family member.

Sean Furey, Ardara and Dublin

The death has occurred of Sean Furey, 10 Beinn Aoibhinn, Letterkenny, formerly of Edergole, Ardara and Raheny, Dublin.

Predeceased by his parents John and Kathleen and his baby sister Carmel.

Deeply regretted by his son Gareth, his beloved sisters Pat, Evelyn, Margaret, Teresa & Geraldine, brothers-in-law Oliver, Neil and Cathal, nieces, nephew, and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at the Eternal Light Chapel of Rest, Mountain Top, Letterkenny (F92 XE35) from 6pm to 8pm, Friday, March 7.

Funeral from Mc Cabes Funeral Home, Ardara, Saturday March 8,, going to the Church of the Holy Family, Ardara for funeral Mass at 12.00 noon. Burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, if desired, to Rehab Unit, St Conals Hospital, Letterkenny.

House private please, family time please before the funeral tomorrow.

Deirdre O’Donnell, Surrey and Letterkenny

The death has occurred on February 22 at King’s Hospital, London of Deirdre O’Donnell, Woking, Surrey and formerly Lower Sallaghraine, Letterkenny.

Predeceased by her parents Joe and May O’Donnell, and sisters Mary and Eileen.

Lovingly missed by her children Donnell and Emmeline Stanley and their father Neil Stanley, brothers and sisters, Margaret, John, Pat and Teresa, sisters- in-law, brothers in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and wide circle of friends.

Reposing at the Eternal Light Chapel of Rest, Mountain Top, Letterkenny (F92 XE35) from 3pm to 5.30pm on Friday, March 7 where all are most welcome to their respects, concluding with removal to St Eunan’s Cathedral , Letterkenny for Reception Prayers at 6pm.

Reposing overnight for 11am Requiem Mass on Saturday, March 8, which can be viewed live on the link followed by funeral and burial in Conwal Cemetery.

Flowers welcome, donations in lieu if wished to King’s Hospital, Denmark Hill, London (SE5 9RS) c/o Paschal Blake, Funeral Director, Stoney Arch, New Line Road, Letterkenny.

Eileen Barr, Derry and  Burnfoot

The death has occurred of Eileen Barr, 20 Larkhill, Steelstown Road, Derry and formerly Avondale House, Tooban, Burnfoot.

Predeceased by her parents Bridie and Jack Barr and brother Michael.

Deeply regretted and will be forever missed by her loving brothers and sisters Patrick, Kathleen King, John, Jim and Deirdre, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Eileen’s remains will be reposing at the family home in Avondale House, Tooban, Burnfoot on Friday, March 7 from 12 noon where all are welcome to pay their respects. Family time please from 11.00pm to 12 noon.

Removal from there on Sunday, March 9 at 10.45am to St Mura’s Church, Fahan for Requiem Mass at 11.30am followed by interment in the adjoining graveyard.

Susan Curran, Glen, Carrigart

The sudden death has taken place of Susan Curran (Nee Shields ), Glen, Carrigart.

Predeceased by her husband Denis (2024) and survived by her sons DJ, Brian, and Maxi and sisters Patsy, Kathleen, and Eileen and brother Joe, grandchildren, nieces nephews, and a wide circle of friends.

Removal from the Eternal Light Chapel of Rest on Thursday, March 6 at 3.30 pm going to her late residence where all are welcome to come and pay their respects today, and on Friday, March 7 from 11am untill after the rosary at 9pm.

Funeral from there on Saturday, March 8, going to the Church of St John The Baptist for requiem Mass at 11am followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. Mass can be viewed live on Mevagh Parish Facebook page.

Marion Wilson, Mountcharles

The death has occurred of Marion Wilson (née Armstrong) The Kelderry, Drimcoe, Mountcharles, Donegal, F94 P861.

She passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family and extended family, on March 5, 2025.

Marion is predeceased by her parents Samuel and Janey Armstrong, her brother Benjamin, infant son George, and her beloved husband Hubert.

Also predeceased by her sister-in-law Ruby Farrell (née Wilson), brothers-in-law John Farrell (RIP Ruby), Bertie Wilson (Daphne), Colin Harrison (Flora), and niece-in-law Sheena Farrell.

Marion will be so sadly missed by her daughters Gillian (Desmond) and Hazel, her son Matthew (Mags), her six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, her sisters Olive Corrigan (David) and Flora Harrison (RIP Colin), her brother Bill Armstrong (Lesley), brother-in-law Matt Wilson, sister-in-law Daphne Wilson (RIP Bertie), nieces, nephews, nieces-in-law, extended family, and her many friends and neighbours.

Remains will repose at her late residence (Eircode F94 P861) on Thursday, March 6 from 11 am until 10 pm. Removal from there on Friday, March 7 going to the Church of Ireland, Killybegs (Eircode F94 HE27) for funeral service at 1 pm, followed by burial in St John's Churchyard, Inver.

Family flowers only, please. Donations in lieu, if desired, to the National Council for the Blind Ireland or the Alzheimer Society of Ireland, c/o Gallaghers Funeral Home, Mountcharles, or any family member.

Kathleen Holmes, Burt

The death has occurred in the Donegal Hospice of Kathleen Holmes, Carrownamaddy, Speenouge, Burt.

Lovingly missed by her husband Donal, her daughters and sons Mary, Charles, Cathy, Donna, Thomas and their partners, her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren and all her extended family and friends.

Kathleen will be reposing at her late residence from 6pm to 10pm on Wednesday, March 5 and Thursday, March 6 from 12pm to 10pm. Wake for family and close friends only.

Funeral leaving her late residence, Carrownamaddy, Speenouge, Burt, on Friday, March 7 at 10.30am going to St Aengus’ Church, Burt for 11am requiem Mass and afterwards travelling to Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan, for 4pm.

Family flowers only please donations in lieu if desired to The Donegal Hospice care of any family member or Kelly’s Funeral Directors, Oakfield, Raphoe.

Jerry Donaghey, Carndonagh

The peaceful death has occurred of Jerry Donaghey in Bedford, England, formerly of Glack, Carndonagh.

Predeceased by his wife Mary (Bedford and Quigley's Point) and son Philip.

Much loved father of Gerald, Kieran and Rosemary sadly missed by his grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and the wider family circle.

His remains will be reposing at the family home in Glack, Carndonagh on Thursday, March 6 from 12 noon where you are welcome to pay your respects.

Funeral from there on Friday at 10:20am going to the Sacred Heart Church Carndonagh for requiem Mass at 11:00am with interment immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Cara Hannon, Letterkenny

The sudden, untimely death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital of Cara Hannon, Listillion, Letterkenny.

Deeply missed by her loving parents PJ and Nellie, sister Emma Maguire (Shaun Paul), brother Patrick (Vivienne), uncles and aunties, nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends and colleagues at the Loreto Convent, St Eunan’s College and Lizzie’s Diner, Dunfanaghy.

Cara is predeceased by her grandparents Patrick and Annie Hannon, Leitrim and Charlie and Margaret Gallen, Knocknamona, Letterkenny.

Cara’s remains will repose at the family home in Listillion on Wednesday, March 5 and Thursday, March 6 from 1pm until after the Rosary at 9pm.

Funeral from there on Friday, March 7 at 10.15am going to The Church of the Irish Martyrs, Ballyraine for 11am Requiem Mass which can be viewed on the parish YouTube Channel.

Interment afterwards in Conwal Cemetery, Letterkenny.

Mary McDaid, Convoy and Strabane

The death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital of Mary Mc Daid (née Heaney), Longlands, Convoy F93 P6KH, and formerly of Strabane.

Beloved wife of James, much loved mother of James (Lisa), Clare (Marty)and Brandon, dearly loved grandmother of Chloe, cherished daughter of Betty and the late John Heaney and sister of John, Elizabeth, Bernadette and Adrian.

Reposing at her home on Tuesday, March 4 from 5pm. Funeral leaving her home on Thursday, March 6 at 9am for Requiem Mass in St Mary`s Church, Melmount at 10am.

Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Deeply regretted by her sorrowing husband, sons, daughter, granddaughter, mum, brothers, sisters and family circle. Family time please from 10pm to 11am. The Requiem Mass can be viewed live via the parish webcam.

Olive Bustard, Donegal Town

The death has occurred of Olive Bustard, Tullybrook, Donegal Town, Co Donegal, F94 H6K1.

Predeceased by her husband Bobby. Deeply regretted by her loving family Howard (Linda), Irene (Gerald) and Gareth (Ann), grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Reposing at her late residence on Tuesday, March 4 from 6pm to 9pm, and Wednesday, March 5 from 2pm to 9pm. Funeral Service in Laghey Parish Church at 2pm Thursday, March 6 followed by burial in the adjoining graveyard.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if so desired to Laghey Parish Church care of any family member.

Vincent Harrison, Mountcharles 

The death has occurred of Vincent Harrison, Salthill, Mountcharles and formerly of London and Ballintra.

He passed away peacefully at Letterkenny University Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his parents Maggie and Bertie and his siblings, Jim, Dymphna, Patricia, Philomena and Desmond.

Deeply regretted by his devoted wife Mary and daughters, Helen (Dennis Ward- R.I.P) and Margaret (John Patton).

Much loved by his granddaughters, Eilish, Sinead and Or​​​​​la, great-grandchildren, Ava and Fíadh.

Forever remembered by his sister, Maureen, nephews and nieces.

Reposing at Tir Connaill Funeral Home, Drumrooske, Donegal Town F94 FX3A on Tuesday, March 4 from 4pm until 8pm.

Wake at family home in Salthill, Mountcharles F94 N5X8 on Wednesday from 2pm until 8pm.

Removal from the family home on Thursday, March 6 at 10am going to St Brigid's Church, Ballintra for 11am funeral Mass followed by burial afterwards in the adjoining graveyard. Vincent's Mass may be viewed online at www.churchservices.tv/ballintra.

Mary Grace McGarvey, Creeslough

The death has taken place of Mary Grace McGarvey, nee Hagney, Ards, Creeslough.

Sadly missed by her daughters Bernadette, Margaret, Geraldine, Pauline and Grace, her sons Fr Pat, Martin, Neilis and Noel, sons in law Pat, Denis, Hugh, Fergus, Paul and Michael, daughters in law Mary T, Maria, and Emma, grandchildren and great grandchildren, sisters Margaret and Agnes.

Predeceased by her husband Paul and daughter Ann, sisters Bridie and Catherine and grandson Martin.

Her remains are reposing at her late residence on Wednesday, March 5 and Thursday, March 6 from 11am, with rosary at 9pm.

Funeral Mass in St Michael’s church Creeslough on Friday, March 7 at 11am, followed by burial in Doe Cemetery.

Family time please from 10pm to 11am, and before the funeral on Friday.
