Death notices and funeral arrangements for Donegal on Tuesday evening, September 2

Deaths in Donegal, Saturday, March 31st

The following deaths have taken place:

- Frances Doherty (nee McDaid), Buncrana

- Frances Laird (Nee Maxwell), Convoy and Clydebank

- Annie O’Donnell, Annagry

- Jacqueline Watson, Dublin and Stranorlar

Neil Ferry, Knockfola

The death has taken place at Letterkenny Hospital of Neil Ferry (Neily Bán) of Meenalough, Knockfola.

Predeceased by his parents; Mary and Neil John, sisters; Sheila, Rosie, Kathleen and Ann and brothers; Ned and John.

Sadly missed by his sister-in-law Margaret, nieces, nephews, neighbours and extended family & friends.

His remains will repose at his home (F92 Y135) on Tuesday, September 4 from 4pm to 8pm, and on Wednesday, September 3 from 12pm to 8pm, with rosary at 8pm.

House private please after the rosary, and on the morning of the funeral.

Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, 4th September, at 11am in St Colmcille’s Church, Cnoc Fola, interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Frances Doherty (nee McDaid), Buncrana

The peaceful death has taken place in Donegal Hospice, Letterkenny, surrounded by her loving family of Frances Doherty, (nee McDaid) 1 Lisowen Avenue, Buncrana.

Heartbroken by her passing are her loving husband Barney, sons and daughters Owen, Marie, Kathleen, Seamus, Fiona, Gwendoline, Bernard, Karol and Charlene; sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, 30 adored grandchildren and cherished great- grandson Brody.Deeply saddened are her sister Katie O Donnell and Anthony Mc Daid, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews and wider family circle.

Frances’ remains are reposing at her home on Tuesday, September 2 until 10pm, and again on Wednesday, September 3 from 11am – 10pm, where all are welcome to come and pay their respects.House private from 10pm – 11am on both nights please, and on the morning of the Funeral.Funeral leaving there at 10.15am on Thursday, September 4, going to St Mary’s Church Cockhill for reqieum Mass at 11am with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Frances Laird (Nee Maxwell), Convoy and Clydebank

The death has taken place in Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Glasgow, Scotland of Frances Laird (Nee Maxwell) of Whitecrook, Clydebank, Scotland, formally of Kiltoal, Convoy.

Predeceased by her husband Thomas, parents Billy and Eliza Maxwell, and sister Gladys.

Loving mum of Billy (Carol), Ian(Gillian) Elizabeth and Alistair(Susanne) and dear grandmother of Colin, Jason, Craig, Grant, Stuart, Holly, Cameron, Ryan, Callum, Scott and Matthew and great grandmother of Adam, Rory and Alexander.

Beloved sister of Jackie, Elma, Vivienne and sister-in-law of Ruth, Vincent, Billy, Valerie and Helen.

Frances will be sadly missed and forever remembered by her nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Funeral arrangements to be confirmed later.

Annie O’Donnell, Annagry

The death has occurred of Annie O’ Donnell, Knockastollar, Bunbeg, originally of Culacrick, Annagry.

Predeceased by her husband Eoghan, son PJ, sisters, Bridget & Rosha and brothers, Eddie, Danny and John.

Sadly missed by her daughter Una, sons, Connie, Seán & Eamonn, sister Sally Roarty (Dungloe), daughter-in-law Maighread, grandchildren, Deirdre, Conall, Eoghan, Colm & Feidhlim, great-grandchildren, Tarlach, Ultán, Conor & Aidan, nieces, nephews, and extended family & friends.

Her remains will repose at her home on Monday, September 1, from 1pm to 8 pm, and on Tuesday from 12 pm to 8 pm.

Rosary nightly at 8 pm. House private after the rosary and on the morning of the funeral.

Annie’s funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, September 3, at 11 am in St Patrick’s Church, Meenaweal, with interment afterwards in Magheragallon cemetery.

Jacqueline Watson, Dublin and Stranorlar

The death has occurred of Jacqueline Watson, (née McCafferty), late of Elmcastle Green, Kilnamanagh, Dublin 24 and formerly Drumboe Avenue, Stranorlar, Co. Donegal. She passed away peacefully at home following a long illness.

Beloved wife of Neil for 58 years, loving mother of Nigel and Lucinda, cherished granny to Craig and Imogen. Sadly missed by her daughter in law Niamh and son in law Ivor. Predeceased by her parents Jock and Bridie and her brother Cormac. Dear sister to Fergus, Mary, Ann, Fionnuala and Louise.

Reposing at family home in Elmcastle Green from 5 pm until Rosary at 9 pm on Monday, September 1.

On Tuesday, September 2 and Wednesday, September 3, reposing at the home of her sister and brother in law Ann and Leon McGranaghan, Drumboe Avenue Stranorlar from 4 pm until Rosary at 9 pm.

Leaving the family home at Drumboe Avenue  on Thursday, September 4 at 10.40 for Mass of the Resurrection at 11 am, at Church of Mary Immaculate, Main St., Stranorlar,

The funeral mass can be viewed on the parish webcam. Jacqueline will be laid to rest in the family plot at Drumboe Cemetery, Stranorlar.
