The following deaths have taken place:

The death has occurred of

Kathleen McCormack, Pettigo

The death has occurred of Kathleen McCormack, nee Monaghan, Carrickrory, Pettigo, F94D2H2.

She passed away peacefully at the Sheil Hospital, Ballyshannon surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her husband Denis, son Denis and her brother Michael.

Sadly missed by her children John (Claire), Patrick (Paula), Mary, Teresa (Michael) and Mairead. Her adored grandchildren Nadine, Tara, Vicki, Kieran, Sean, Sarah, Kate and her great grandchildren. Her sisters Nan, Sally and Margaret her brothers Paddy and Teddy, nieces, nephews and all the extended family.

Reposing at her daughter Mairead's home at above address. House is strictly private for family and close friends only.

Funeral Mass in St Mary's Church Pettigo on Saturday at 11am. Burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

Thomas Harley, Quigley’s Point

The peaceful death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital of Thomas Harley, Clunelly, Quigley’s Point.

Predeceased by his parents Hugh and Gretta, his sister Cecilia and brother-in-law George.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his sister Elizabeth, brothers Billy and Denis, sisters-in-law Mary K and Claire, niece and nephews Michelle, Daniel, George and Lee, extended family circle, friends and neighbours.

Thomas’s remains will leave Eamonn McLaughlin’s Funeral Home, Station Road, Carndonagh F93 E4FN on Thursday, November 6  at 1pm, going to the home of his sister, Elizabeth, (F93 Y0YX) where are all welcome to pay respects. amily time from 10pm to 11am.

Funeral from there on Saturday at 10.20am for 11am Requiem Mass in St Columba’s Church Drung, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Neil Charlie Boyle, Portnoo

The sudden death has occurred of Neil Charlie Boyle, Loughfad, Portnoo.

Neil will be forever loved and missed by his heartbroken family Mam and Dad Charlie and Mary, his dear sister Fiona (Aidan) and cherished nephews Danny and Tommy, extended family, neighbours and many friends.

Neil’s remains will repose at the family home, F94 XK30, on Thursday,  November 6 from 11am until 8pm.

Parking at The Dolmen Centre F94 DN83. Shuttle bus in operation to the wake house. House strictly private to family only after 8pm. Family time on the morning of the funeral.

Funeral Mass on Friday  at 12 noon in St. Connell’s Church, Glenties with burial afterwards in the local cemetery.

George Gethins, Lifford

The death has taken place at his home of George Gethins, 4 The Cottages, Curraghalane, Lifford. F93 HX3D, and formerly of Jinks Avenue, Sligo.

Dearly loved husband of Angela, much loved father of Trevor (Joanne), Conor (Rebecca), Alan (Emma) and David, devoted grandfather of Cillian, Oisin, Finlay, Louie, Freya, Hannah, Ben, Isla and Áda, beloved son of the late Mary and George Gethins, and brother of Jacinta, Catherine, John, Damien, Melanie, Hillary and the late Carl.

Reposing at his home from 4pm on Wednesday, November 5. Family time please 10pm to 11am, and on the morning of the funeral.

Funeral leaving his home on Friday at 12.45pm for requiem Mass in St Patrick`s Church, Murlog, Lifford at 1.30pm.
Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Deeply regretted by his sorrowing wife, sons, grandchildren, brothers, sisters and family circle.

Donations in lieu of flowers please to the Oncology Unit, Letterkenny University Hospital, c/o Quigley Funeral Directors, Newtown Place, Strabane.

Nicholas Mooney, Killybegs

The death has occurred of Nicholas Mooney, Lough Head, Killybegs.

He passed away peacefully at Letterkenny University Hospital on November 3, surrounded by his family.

Predeceased by his parents Charles and Margaret, sister Margaret, brothers Cathal, Michael, Benny and Pat.

Dearly missed by his son John, daughter in law Courtney, grandson Patrick, brother Tommy Mooney, sisters Carmel Murchan and Bridie O'Neill, sisters in law, brother in law and all the extended family.

Reposing at McBrearty's Funeral Home, Killybegs on Wednesday from 6pm to 8pm and Thursday from 5pm to 7.30pm.

Removal on Friday morning for 11am funeral Mass in St Mary of the Visitation Church, Killybegs followed by burial afterwards in the local cemetery.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if desired to Killybegs Community Hospital, care of McBrearty Funeral Directors.

Pól Ó Laoire, Gortahork and US

Fuair Pól Ó Laoire, as Gort A’ Choirce lá den tsaol, bás sa bhaile i New Jersey Mheiriceá ar an 3 Meán Fómhair 2025.

Croíbhriste ina dhiaidh tá a chéile Lori, a chlann Michael (Brandi) agus Moya (Leo) agus a gharchlann,Wyatt agus Olive. Leasmhac ionúin do Bhrendan Kearney, deartháir ionúin Mháire, Chonaill, Lillis, Chlíona agus Mhéabh, agus an duine ab óige den teaghlach, tá siad uilig á chronú go mór. Ar shiúl roimhe ar Shlí na Fírinne tá a athair Lillis agus a mháthair Bernie; athair agus máthair Lori, Arnie agus Sue; agus a dheirfiúr chéile ionúin Mary O’Leary. Fear mór cuideachta a bhí i bPól agus tá scaifte mór gaolta eile agus cairde go buartha ina dhiaidh fosta. 

Ceiliúrfaidh an tAthair Donnchadh Ó Baoill, SP Ghort A’Choirce, íobairt naofa an Aifrinn i gcuimhne ar Phól ar an tSatharn 8 Samhain 2025, i dTeach Pobail Chríost Rí ag 1.00p.m. Tá an teaghlach buíoch d’achan duine a rinne comhbhrón leo faoi bhás Phóil roimhe seo.

Paul O’Leary, from Gortahork, Co. Donegal, died on September 3 at his home in New Jersey, USA.

Heartbroken are his wife, Lori, his children Michael (Brandi), and Moya (Leo), and his grandchildren, Wyatt and Olive. Beloved stepson of Brendan Kearney, much loved brother of Máire, Conal, Lillis, Clíona and Méabh, he was the youngest of his siblings, all of whom miss him greatly. Gone before him on the Way of Truth are his parents Lillis and Bernie; his wife Lori’s parents, Arnie and Sue; and his beloved sister-in-law, Mary O’Leary. Gregarious and fun-loving, Paul is also mourned by a wide circle of extended family and friends.

Fr Donnchadh Ó Baoill, PP Gortahork, will celebrate the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in Paul’s memory on Saturday, November 8 in the Church of Christ the King at 1pm. Mass will be live streamed on the parish webcam.
