Death notices for Donegal on Friday evening

The following deaths have taken place:

- Moya McColgan, Fahan and Derry

- Iris O'Sullivan, Malin and Louth

- Olivia Robb, Newtowncunningham and Sligo

- Anthony Breslin, Ballyshannon

- Brid Byrne, Carrick

- Joan Cunningham, Portnoo

Moya McColgan, Fahan and Derry

The death has occurred at Cornfield Care Centre, Limavady of Moya McColgan, formerly Tullyarmon, Figary, Fahan, County Donegal and later Clipper Quay, Strand Road, Derry.

Predeceased by her loving husband John; much loved mother of James, Garvan, Michelle, Carol-Ann and Paula and dear sister of Anne; deeply regretted by her loving sons, daughters, grandchildren, great grandchild, sister, extended family and friends.

Moya's remains will be reposing at Murphy's Funeral Home, Tooban, Burnfoot, F93PW96 on Saturday from 3pm to 5pm. Family only please on the morning of the removal.

Removal from there on Monday morning at 10.15am going to St Mary's Church, Cockhill for Requiem Mass at 11am followed by interment in the adjoining graveyard. Requiem mass can be viewed on the parish webcam 

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, to Alzheimer Society of Ireland c/o any family member or Shaun Murphy Funeral Director.

Iris O'Sullivan, Malin and Louth

The death has taken place peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family of Iris O'Sullivan, née Colhoun, Sandy Lane, Blackrock, County Louth and formerly of Malin Village. 

Much loved wife and best friend of the late Tony, cherished mother of Tara Shirley and Nicola Golden, granny of Ben, Chloe, Lucy, Alex and Andrew, mother-in-law of Jonathan and the late Tony, sister of Linda, Wendy, Canon Doris, Derek, Nigel and the late Norma and Ivan. Iris will be sadly missed by her heartbroken daughters, grandchildren, son-in-law, sisters, brothers, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Her remains will repose at McGeough's Funeral Home, Jocelyn Street (A91 XW66) from 2pm until 5pm on Saturday.

Removal on Sunday afternoon via her home, to St Paul’s Church, Heynestown, A91 TP21, arriving for Funeral Service at 2pm. Burial will take place afterwards in adjoining Churchyard. Please note that due to the capacity of the church, the service will only be for family and close friends. 

Olivia Robb, Newtowncunningham and Sligo

The peaceful death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital of Olivia Robb née Conlon, Murlough, Newtowncunningham F93 X2F3 and formerly from Woodville Road, Sligo.

Deeply missed by her loving husband Brendan and daughter Lisa, her father Bertie Conlon, brothers Tony, Brian and Adrian, sister Ann-Marie Sheridan, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, her devoted Shih Tzu Buttons and a wide circle of family, friends and neighbours. Olivia is predeceased by her mother Teresa and sister-in-law Stephanie.

Olivia’s remains are reposing at her late residence on Friday from 6pm until 10pm and on Saturday from 12 noon until 10pm with Rosary both nights at 9pm. Family time on the morning of the funeral please.

Funeral from there on Sunday at 12.30pm going to All Saints Church, Newtowncunningham, Co. Donegal for 1pm Requiem Mass which can be viewed on the parish webcam 

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers, if desired, to the Donegal Hospice c/o any family member.

Anthony Breslin, Ballyshannon

The death has taken place of Anthony Breslin, 75 Ernedale Heights, Ballyshannon, F94 D6K7. He passed away peacefully in Sligo University Hospital under the gentle and exceptional care of the doctors, nurses and staff of the ICU and oncology wards surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his parents Jim and Bridget, siblings Jim, Patsy, Kevin and Mary; sadly missed by his loving wife Marian and children Stephen, Dermot (Kate), Aidan (Claire) Kieran (Rachael) Martina (Patrick) Lisa and Claire, grandchildren Shannon, Brona, Aoife, Eoghan, David and Martin, his brother John, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, neighbours and close friends

His remains will repose at his late residence on Friday from 1pm to 9pm.

Removal from his late residence on Saturday at 10.30am to arrive at St Patrick's Church, Ballyshannon for Mass of the Resurrection at 11am with service of interment in the Abbey Assaroe Cemetery. The funeral Mass shall be streamed live on the parish webcam

Family flowers only. Donations in lieu of flowers if so desired to Shout Cancer Care c/o Patrick McKenna Funeral Directors Ballyshannon or any family member.

Brid Byrne, Carrick

The death has taken place of Brid Byrne, née Carr, Crove, Carrick. She passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family.

Predeceased by her husband Josie, her son Neil, daughter Máire, and granddaughter Niamh, she will be dearly missed by her son John (Rosemary), daughters Sorcha (Gerry), Noreen (Rory), Carmel, and Kathleen (Patrick); her beloved grandchildren Danielle, Natasha, Gráinne, Aoife, Róisín, Mairéad, Danny, Barry, and Darragh; sisters Tina and Eileen; brother-in-law Michael; extended family, friends and neighbours.

Her remains are reposing at her residence (F94 FK51) from 12pm to 10pm on Friday. House private on the morning of the funeral.

Funeral from there on Saturday going to St Patrick’s Church, Meenaneary, for Requiem Mass at 11am followed by burial afterwards in Kilcar Cemetery.

Joan Cunningham, Portnoo

The death has taken place at her home of Joan Cunningham, Narin, Portnoo, F94X4C6.

Predeceased by her husband Andy, she will be forever missed by her children Andrew, Deirdre, John and Maureen, her 10 grandchildren and her 7 adored great grandchildren and all her relatives, neighbours and friends.

Her remains are reposing at her home.

Funeral from there on Saturday morning at 11.30am to St Conal's Church, Kilclooney for 12noon Requiem Mass with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.Mass can be viewed live on Shovlin's Funeral Home Facebook page.
