Death notices for Donegal on Thursday evening

The following deaths have taken place:

Frank Porter, Cork and Redcastle

The death has taken place peacefully at Beaumont Residential Care of Fergus Porter, Dripsey, Cork and Redcastle, Donegal.

Frank, beloved husband of the late Bridget and loving father of Wayne and the late Rachel; sadly missed by his son, daughter-in-law Liz, grandchildren Mabel, Freya, James and Lexi, brothers Michael and Paul, sisters Nance, Maura and Nora, extended family, friends and his godson Michael.

His remains will repose at Crowley’s Funeral Home, Ballincollig on Saturday from 4pm to 5pm for visitation, and at Eamonn McLaughlin Funeral Home, Station Road, Carndonagh, on Sunday from 7pm to 8pm for visitation.

Requiem Mass on Monday at 11am at St Columba’s Church, Drung, which can be viewed on the church webcam.  Funeral afterwards to the adjoining cemetery.

Teresa Ferry, Letterkenny

The death has taken place peacefully in Hillcrest Nursing Home, of Teresa Ferry, née Barrett, Carnamuggagh Upper, Letterkenny.

Deeply regretted by her loving family, sons Charlie, Eamonn and Garreth, daughter Sara, daughters-in-law, Colette, Helena and Amy, son-in-law Gavin, grandchildren Conal, Liam, Ciara, Aisling, Orla, Luke, Ryan, Zoé, Lily, Lucy and Eamonn, brother Charlie, sisters-in-law Mary and Rosemarie, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She is predeceased by her husband Eamonn and her brothers John and Dan.

Her remains are reposing at the residence of her daughter Sara and Gavin Crawford, 54, The Grange, Letterkenny, F92 YXT3, on Thursday from 4pm until 8pm and on Friday from 12 noon until 8pm. House private at all other times.

Requiem Mass on Saturday at 11am in St Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny. Burial will take place afterwards in Rathmullan Cemetery. 

Mass can be viewed on Church Services TV St Eunan’s Cathedral Letterkenny 

Family flowers only, donations if desired to Alzheimer’s Society, Donegal, c/o any family member.

Dan Cunningham, Killybegs

The death has occurred peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, of Dan Cunningham, St Catherine's Road, Killybegs.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his wife Bridie, daughters Siobhan (Aidan) and Thérése (Gary), son Stephen, grandsons Cillian, Ben, Eamon and Oisin and his mum Erin and dad Kieran. He is predeceased by his sons Oliver and Matthew, parents Charlie and Hannah, brothers John, Cathal, Michael and James and sisters Mary, Leila and Brìd.

Dan's remains are reposing at his residence on Thursday and Friday from 2pm to 9pm. House private on the morning of the funeral please.

Requiem Mass on Saturday in St Mary of the Visitation Church, Killybegs at 11am with burial afterwards in the local cemetery. 

Anthony 'Con' Gallagher, Frosses and UK

The death has occurred peacefully in London of Anthony ‘Con’ Gallagher, Edgware, UK and Meenagran, Frosses.

Anthony is predeceased by his wife Freddie and his siblings Connie, Kathleen, Marie and Patrick.

Sadly missed by his beloved sons Anthony (Catherine) and John and is also survived by his loving grandchildren Catriona, Conal, Ryan, Maeve and Eamonn, his siblings Theresa, Margaret and Agnes, many nieces and nephews and wide circle of friends in Ireland and the UK.

Mass in the UK at St Anthony’s Church, Edgware, London took place on Wednesday at 6pm

Anthony’s remains will arrive at The Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Frosses, at 6pm on Friday for reception prayers and to repose overnight.

Requiem Mass on Saturday at 11am, with interment immediately afterwards in the church graveyard. Anthony’s funeral mass can be viewed on https://mcn.live/Camera/st-marys-frosses-inver

Margaret McGlynn, Bruckless

The death has occurred of Margaret McGlynn, née Brosnan, St Theresa's Avenue, Bruckless, and formerly of Kerry, Waterford and London, England.

Predeceased by her loving husband Michael and son Peter, her parents James and Nora and brother Con, she will be sadly missed by her brother Billy (Linda) and Sister Celia (Billy RIP), her extended family, neighbours and friends.

Her remains arriving at the Church of Saint Joseph and Saint Conall, Bruckless on Friday at 7 pm to repose overnight.

Funeral Mass Saturday at 11am followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Connell McDevitt, Portnoo

The peaceful death has taken place at his home of Connell Mc Devitt, Loughderryduff, Portnoo, F94CP48.

He is sadly missed by his loving wife Beatrice, daughter Pauline, (John Paul), sons Sean, Frankie, (Geraldine), Connell, Gerard, Pauric, Mark (Roseleen) and Michael, his 16 grandchildren and great-grandchild Caleb, brothers Paddy and Tony, sisters Philomena, Noleen and Mary, brothers-in- law, sisters-in-law nieces, nephews, extended family and all his relatives, neighbours and friends. Connell is predeceased by his brother John Joe and sisters Theresa and Rosaleen.

His remains are reposing at his home. There will be a shuttle bus in operation from the Dolmen Centre Kilclooney from 5pm.

Funeral from there on Friday Morning at 10.30am to St Conals Church, Kilclooney for 11am Requiem Mass with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Rosary each night at 9pm. 

Paul Colgan, England and Ballybofey

The death has occurred in Coventry, England, of Paul Colgan, formerly of Kinaderry, Ballybofey, Donegal, F93 K856.

Beloved son of the late Danny and Sal, much loved brother of Danny Jnr, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his brother, uncles, aunts, cousins and many friends in Donegal and England.

His remains are reposing at the home of his uncle and aunt-in-law Gerard and Anne Mc Cool, Kinaderry, Welchtown, F93 K856 on Thursday from 4pm to 9pm. A shuttle bus service will be in operation from the Picnic area at Welchtown.

Funeral leaving from there on Friday at 11.30am for Requiem Mass in the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Glenfin at 12 noon. Cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan later. Requiem Mass can be viewed live on the parish webcam

James O'Donnell, Annagry

Cuirfear é Dé hAoine i reilig úr Anagaire, i ndiaidh Aifreann Tórraimh ag a 11 a chlog i dTeach Pobail Réalt na Mara Anagaire.

The death has taken place at his home of James O' Donnell (Jim Chonaill) of Ranafast, Annagry and originally of Knockastolar, Bunbeg.

Predeceased by his parents Conal and Biddy, daughter-in-law Fiona, sisters Bríd and Mary and brother Danny; sadly missed by his loving wife Ita, daughters Celine, Marguerita (Michael), son Connell, brother Connie, grandchildren Ciarán (Meabh),Martin, Róisin, Conor, James & Roseanne, great grandchildren; Eimear, Naoise and Doireann and extended family and friends.

Reposal continues at his home in Ranafast (F94 YKF4) on Thursday from 12pm to 8pm. Rosary nightly at 8pm. House private after Rosary and on the morning of the funeral.

Funeral Mass will take place on Friday in St Mary's Star of the Sea Church, Annagry at 11am, with burial afterwards in the new graveyard, Annagry. The Funeral Mass can be viewed live on Kieran Roarty Funeral Director's Facebook page and on the Annagry Parish webcam.

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu to the Donegal Hospice.
