The following deaths have taken place:

Paddy Sweeney, Gweedore

Paddy Sweeney, Gweedore

The peaceful death has taken place at his home of Paddy Sweeney, Magheragallon, Gweedore, originally of Thorr, Gweedore.

Predeceased by his wife Nora, daughter Blathnaid, brothers Jimmy, Teague & Antoin and sister Maire.

Sadly missed by his daughters, Deirdre, Clíona (John), Noreen (Ian), Róisín (Colm), Eileen (Michael) & Máire, son Pádraig (Fionnuala), in-laws; Eamon Sweeney (Marian), Susie Sweeney & Nellie Campbell (Paddy), grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family & friends.

His remains will repose at his home in Magheragallon (F92 R8P3) Tuesday from 2pm – 8pm and tomorrow from 12pm – 8pm.

Rosary nightly at 8pm. House private after the Rosary and on the morning of the Funeral.

Funeral Service will take place on Thursday  at 11am in St Patrick’s Church, Meenaweal, burial afterwards in Magheragallon cemetery.

The funeral service can be viewed live on Kieran Roarty Funeral Director’s Facebook page and on the church webcam via MCN Media.

Family flowers only please.

Donations in lieu to St. Vincent de Paul c/o any family member or Kieran Roarty Funeral Director.

Anna Fleming, Galway and Annagry

The death has taken place of Anna Fleming (née Coyle) Fairgreen Heights, Tuam, Galway and formerly Derrynamansher, Annagry.

She passed away peacefully in her 91st year at home, surrounded by her family.

Anna is predeceased by her parents, her brothers and sisters and will be sadly missed by her loving family; husband Vincent, daughters Jackie and Sheila, sons Pat, Hughie, Vincent and Paul, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandson, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Glynn's Funeral Home, High St. Tuam (H54 VC53) this Tuesday evening (March 31) from 5.00 pm to 7.00 pm.

Funeral arriving at The Cathedral of the Assumption, Tuam on Wednesday morning for Funeral Mass at 11.30 am.

Burial afterwards in Cortoon cemetery. House Private Please. Family flowers only, donations if desired to Galway Hospice Foundation.

George Harron, Donegal Town

The death has taken place of George Harron, Ardeskin, Donegal Town.

He passed away peacefully at Aras Mhic Shuibhne Nursing Home, Mullinasole, Laghey.

Deeply regretted by his beloved wife Kathleen, loving children Janice, Nicholas (Jackie), Philip (Seda) and Stephen (Laura), grandchildren Neil, Mia, Mary, Emily, Hannah, Nena and Alex, and sisters Ettie and Myra.

Predeceased by his son John, brothers Aubrey, Billy and sister Evelyn. Reposing at his late residence.

House private please. Family and friends welcome. Funeral service in Laghey Parish Church on Wednesday, April 1 at 2pm followed by burial in the adjoining graveyard.

Family flowers only, donation in lieu if so desired to Aras Mhic Shuibhne Patient’s comfort fund care of any family member or George Irwin Funeral Directors.


Rián James Marnie, Stranorlar

The death has occurred of Baby Rían James Marnie, 25 Admiran Park, Stranorlar, F93 Y16V, who died on March 22, 2026.

Adored son of Ciara Marnie and Tommy Coulson, much-loved brother of Theo. Deeply regretted and lovingly remembered by his heartbroken parents, brother, grandparents Ian and Bernadette, Patricia and Rob, Billy and Helen, by his aunts and uncles Bronagh, Alex, James, Shannon, Regan, cousins Ava, Brady and Sofia, and extended family circle.

Reposing at 25 Admiran Park Stranorlar on Tuesday March 31 from 11am to 10pm.

Funeral leaving from there on Wednesday March at 10.20 am for Mass of the Angels in the Church of Mary Immaculate, Stranorlar at 11am. Interment in Drumboe cemetery. The Mass will be streamed live via the parish webcam.

House private on the morning of the funeral please.

Mary McLaughlin, Buncrana

The sudden death has occurred at her residence of Mary McLaughlin (née Gill).

Much loved wife of Charlie and cherished mother of Fiona and Declan.

Predeceased by brother Paddy.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her brothers Hughie and Liam

Mary’s remains will be reposing at her home, Miltown, Buncrana F93 K7FE on Tuesday, March 31 from 11:30am.

Funeral from there on Wednesday, April 1 at 10.30am for 11am Requiem Mass in St Mary’s Church Cockhill, followed by Interment in the adjoing Cemetery.

Requiem Mass can be viewed live on churchservices.tv/cockhill.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if desired to Buncrana Community Hospital patients comfort fund C/O any family member or McLaughlin & McLaughlin Funeral Director.
