Death notices and funeral arrangements for Donegal on Monday morning, April 13

The following deaths have taken place:

Brídgin Bonar, Dungloe

The death has occurred of Brídgin Bonar (née Balfe) Dungloe and formerly of Anglesea Road, Dublin. 

She passed away on April 12, peacefully in the excellent care of Nightingale Ward, Blackrock Clinic. 

Beloved wife of 60 years to Declan, loving mother to Sarah, Barbara and Brian and proud grandmother to Isabella, Emily and Alexandra. 

Sadly missed by her loving family, sons in law Craig and Barry, Brian’s partner Avila, sisters Mairead and Catherine, fond friends Breid Boyle and Cróna McCole, brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces and friends.

Her remains will repose in McGlynns Funeral Home, Dungloe (F94ND68) on Wednesday April 15 from 3pm until Rosary at 8pm and on Thursday from 4pm to 6pm followed by private removal to her home. 

House is private please. Funeral Mass on Friday at 11am in St Crona's Church, Dungloe with interment in Maghery cemetery.

Jim Muldowney, Arranmore

The sudden death has taken place of Jim (James) Muldowney, Ballard, Arranmore, formerly of Lahardane, Co Mayo. 

Sadly missed by his wife Noreen, daughter Emma and son in law Patrick, his granddaughters Elsie, Isobel & Jessica.

His parents James & Mary, and sisters Moyà and Adrieanne, nieces & nephews, brothers and sisters in law and extended family.

Responding at his home until after rosary (9pm) on Tuesday and Wednesday. Family only on the morning of the Funeral. 

Funeral on Thursday at 11am with burial afterwards in the local cemetery. Family flowers only, donations in lieu to Irish Coastguard care of Mc Glynn Funeral Directors.

Moya Brennan, Gweedore

The peaceful death has occurred at her home of Moya Brennan (Jarvis) of Upper Dore, Gweedore.

Predeceased by her father Leo Brennan, brother Leon Brennan, uncles Noel and Padraig Duggan and aunt Bríd Duggan.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving husband Tim Jarvis, daughter Aisling (Kayleigh), son Paul (Lara), granddaughter Eden, mother Máire (Baba) Brennan, sisters Deirdre, Enya, Olive and Brídín, brothers Ciarán, Pól and Bartley and extended family and many friends.

Moya’s remains will repose at her home (F92 F8X5) on Wednesday, April 15 and on Thursday from 1pm – 8pm. Prayers nightly at 8pm.

House private after the prayers and on the morning of the Funeral.

Moya’s Funeral Mass will take place on Friday at 2pm in St Patrick’s Church, Meenaweal, Crolly (F92 CH22), interment afterwards in Magheragallon Cemetery, Gweedore.

The Funeral Mass can be viewed live on Kieran Roarty Funeral Director’s Facebook page and on the church webcam.

Family Flowers only please.

Donations in lieu to Donegal Cancer Flights and Services c/o any family member or Kieran Roarty Funeral Director.

Kevin Molloy, Dublin and Glenties

The sudden death has occurred of Kevin Molloy, Clontarf, Dublin 3 and Glenties, Co Donegal.

Predeceased by his parents, Connell and Christina Molloy.

Survived by his son Eric, daughter Stephanie and their mother Colette.

Loved and sadly missed by his brothers Connell, Robert, Charlie, Laurence, Derek and Brendan.

Kevin will repose at Shovlin’s Funeral Home, Sandfield, Ardara F94 A250 on Wednesday, April 15 from 4pm until 6pm followed by removal to St Connell’s Church, Glenties to arrive at approximately 6.30pm to repose overnight.

Funeral Mass on Thursday at 2pm with burial afterwards in the local cemetery.

Frank McSwiggan, Glenties

The death has taken place of Frank McSwiggan, Gortnasillagh, Glenties on Sunday, April 12, peacefully in Galway University Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his parents, John & Mary Kate, sisters, Mary and Nora and brother-in-law Tony.

Frank will be sadly missed by his wife Rose, daughter Michelle (Pauric), son Francis (Kiera), his five beautiful grandchildren, Cára, Ava, Darragh, Emily and Shane. Brothers, Jimmy (Maura) & John, sister Annette, nephews & niece, neighbours and many friends.

Frank’s remains will repose at Shovlin’s Funeral Home, Sandfield, Ardara F94 A250 on Tuesday, April 14 from 3pm to 8pm.

On Wednesday, Frank will rest in his family home.

House strictly private for family members, close family friends and neighbours.

Funeral Mass on Thursday  at 11am in St. Connell’s Church, Glenties, with burial afterwards in the local cemetery.

Family flowers only. Donations in lieu, if wished, to Croí Heart & Stroke charity (non-profit organisation),c/o James McGuinness, Funeral Directors, Main Street, Glenties.

Croí provided Frank’s family with accommodation in Galway, which enabled them to be with him during his final days comfortably.

Bernard Leahy, Malin

The peaceful death has occurred at Carndonagh Community Hospital of Bernard Leahy, Malin and formerly Cork City.

Beloved husband of Ketevan and much-loved father of Colin, Alan, Louise, David and Daniel.

Deeply regretted by his family circle, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours.

Bernard’s remains will repose at Kelly’s Funeral Home, Station Road, Carndonagh (F93YE1C), on Tuesday from 6pm to 8pm where all are welcome to pay their respects.

Removal from there on Wednesday at 10:15am going to St Patrick’s Church, Aughaclay for 11am Requiem Mass followed by private cremation in Lakeland’s Crematorium, Cavan.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if desired to Oncology and Haematology Department, Letterkenny University Hospital, C/O any family member or Blaine McCarron – Kelly’s Funeral Directors.

Rev Fr Willie Bradley, Letterkenny

The peaceful death has taken place in the wonderful care of the staff of Larissa Lodge Nursing Home of Rev Fr Willie Bradley, C.S.Sp., 7 College Row, Glencar, Letterkenny.

Predeceased by his parents James and Kathleen, and brother Patrick.

Deeply regretted by his brothers Jim, Danny, Louis, Brian and sisters Girlie (McCrossan), Angela, Dympna (Lynch), Ann (Doherty) and Bernadette (Doherty), sisters-in-law Marie Therese, Mary O’, Patricia and Rachel, brothers-in-law Con and John, his Spiritan confrères, nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, and a wide circle of family, friends and neighbours.

Reposing at his late residence. House private, please. Family time on the morning of the funeral, please.

Requiem Mass in St. Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny, at 12 noon on Wednesday, April 15 which can be viewed online at https://www.churchservices.tv/letterkenny followed by interment in the family plot in New Leck Cemetery.

Alfie Ferry, Ramelton

The sudden death has taken place of Alfie Ferry, Meenatole, Ramelton.

Deeply regretted by his brother Michael, sister-in-law Mary, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by his sisters, Kathleen, Rose, Mary Agnes and Grace.

Reposing at the Eternal Light Funeral Home, Carnamuggagh, Letterkenny, F92 XE35, on Monday, April 13, from 6pm until 8pm and Tuesday from 5pm until 7pm, when those who wish can pay their respects.

Removal from there on Tuesday at 7pm to St Mary’s Church, Ramelton to arrive at 7:30pm for prayers and to repose overnight. Requiem Mass on Wednesday at 11am.

Burial afterwards in St Mary’s Cemetery.

Mairead McLaughlin, Newtowncunningham

The death has occurred of Mairead McLaughlin at her brother Jim’s residence, Blanketnook, Newtowncunningham.

Mairead is formerly of 363 Mullaney, Burt. Predeceased by her parents John and Mary and her brother Shaun (Isobel).

Cherished sister of Jim, Marion Curran (Thomas) and Teresa Donnelly (James).

Deeply regretted by her loving brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Mairead’s remains will be reposing at her brother Jim’s residence on Monday, April 13 from 5.00pm, where all are welcome to pay respects.

Removal from there on Wednesday at 9.30am to All Saints Church, Newtowncunningham for Requiem Mass at 10.00 am followed by interment in Burt Cemetery.

Requiem Mass can be viewed on www.churchservices.tv/newtowncunningham.

Family time please from 10.00pm to 11.00am and house private on the morning of the funeral.

Irene Love, Mountcharles

The death has occurred of Irene Love, Drimineary, Mountcharles, Donegal, F94 F653.

Deeply regretted and lovingly remembered by her family, loving husband Bobby, son Terence (Colette), and her daughter Selina (Daragh), adored grandmother to Darcie. Remembered with love by her extended family and friends.

Her remains are reposing at Gallagher's Funeral Home, Station Road, Mountcharles, F94 X02N, on Tuesday from 2pm until 8pm.

Funeral Service on Wednesday at 2pm in Killymard Parish Church of Ireland, Ballydevitt, F94 E373 with interment afterwards in the Glebe Cemetery, Donegal Town.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if so desired to the Irish Cancer Society.
