Seven people have lost their lives on Donegal’s roads in 2022
The victims of Donegal's roads are to be remembered at services in the county today.
Seven people have lost their lives on Donegal’s roads in 2022 and they will be among those commemorated on the UN’s world day of remembrance for road traffic victims.
Commemorations are taking place around the country to remember those who have lost their lives on the roads, their families and those who have been seriously injured on the roads.
The remembrance day is being marked at today's 11am Mass in St Mary’s Church, Cockhill, Buncrana. Members of the emergency services will assist with the readings and prayers of the Faithful at the Mass. The Mass may be viewed live at www.churchservices.tv/cockhill.
A prayer service will also be held in memory of road traffic victims in the Milford public service centre at 6.30pm.
Almost 25,000 people have died on roads since Ireland began recording fatalities in 1959 and since 1977, when injury records began, more than 86,000 people have been seriously injured.
