Second Church break-in ignites warning to review security

Church of Ease, Fahan

Church committees are being asked to review their security after a second Church was broken into in recent weeks. Gardaí in Buncrana are investigating a burglary that happened at the Church Of Ease, Figary, Fahan between 10pm on Friday, November 18 and 6pm on Sunday, November 20.

Entry to the Church was via an open front door. A lock was then forced open on an internal door within the Church. Nothing was stolen from the building. Gardaí are appealing to anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in or around the Church between those dates to contact them.

A similar incident occurred at St Baithin's Church in St Johnston between 11am and 4.30pm on November 11. A door was forced open and burglars made away with a small sum of money.

You can contact gardaí at the Buncrana station on 074 93 20540.  Any relevant information may also be provided via the Garda Confidential line on 1800 666 111.
