A man has died after a motorcycle was involved in a road crash in Co Westmeath.
The man, aged in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene on the N4 at Ballinalack, Mullingar, at around 3.20pm on Saturday, gardai said.
The road was expected to remain closed overnight.
Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are expected to attend on Sunday morning.
Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
“Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the N4 in the Ballinalack area between 3-3.30pm are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí,” they said.
“Anyone with any information is asked to contact Mullingar Garda station on 044 398 4000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.”
