A young woman has died after falling from the Cliffs of Moher in Co Clare.
The incident happened at the popular visitor attraction on Saturday afternoon.
It is understood the woman, aged in her early 20s, lost her footing while walking and fell.
The incident is being treated as a tragic accident.
Gardai said the woman’s body has been recovered from the water.
A Garda spokesman said: “Gardai and emergency services conducted an operation following reports of an incident at the Cliffs Moher this afternoon.
“The body of a woman, aged in her early 20s, was removed from the water by emergency services.”
The Cliffs of Moher stand 214 metres at their highest point.
